People behind HeyBubloo

Founder & CEO

S. Sandana

While searching for comfortable ethnic wear for children after having her first child in 2020, Sandana realised that there was a lack of such clothes for children in Singapore. She turned to brands in India instead to curate an ethnic collection for her son. As many of her new-age parent friends shared the same sentiment, she recognised a need yet to be addressed in the community.

Despite her tutoring business being affected during the Covid 19 pandemic and being a new mother back in 2020, Sandana launched HeyBubloo, an online boutique for children’s ethnic wear. With her educational background in Business Studies and Accountancy and a keen eye for design, Heybubloo grew from curating Indian brands to designing its own range of South Asian ethnic wear for kids, gaining popularity amongst customers in Singapore and Malaysia in the next 2 years.

Sandana’s strong sense of belonging to her South Indian roots, wanted her to share the love and tradition of the South Asian culture beyond clothing and venture into skincare, food and language as well. Her dream to create a holistic store for South Asian parents was realised when she crossed paths with her Co-founder, Ratha Velu.

Co-founder & COO

Ratha Velu

Ratha comes with a rich background in early childhood, both as an educator and a director who has started and successfully overseen operations in learning centres for children. As a mother of 2 boys, who is often commended on her multi-tasking capabilities, Ratha is passionate about discovering products that help ease the struggles faced in the parenting journey. She also prides herself to be a traditional South Asian mother and aligns her parenting with the culture and values passed down through generations. Together, Sandana and Ratha, with their personal experiences as parents, aim to build a safe and trusted community for parents to learn, share and discover the tradition and love that the South Asian Culture has to offer in their parenting journeys.
